The Gracie Barra legacy is one of many champions built by great Professors and Masters. Beyond the Jiu-Jitsu contest arena, lessons taught by our instructors have positively impacted the lives of hundreds of communities and thousands of people over the years.

Gracie Barra Instructors are held responsible to high standards of etiquette, instruction and philosophy set by Master Carlos Gracie Jr. and the Gracie Barra Association. To maintain the integrity and focus on safety in our schools, all of our instructors are certified. Additionally, our instructors are all required to be CPR/Basic First Aid Certified.

Valerio Mori Ubaldini comes to Gracie Barra from Italy. He began Jiu Jitsu in 2008, and after one month of training, he won his first competition at fourteen years old… in the adult division. He achieved his black belt in only 8 years of training, during which time he trained with Professor Victor Estima in Knottingham and Professor Jefferson Moura in Brazil.

BROWN BELT – Second Degree

Coach Adrian is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Brown Belt – Second Degree (received from Bruno Frazatto) and has been Training and Instructing for 8 years. Coach Adrian is an active competitor and holds titles in the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation, North American Grappling Association, American Grappling Federation and many other organizations.

Competition Accomplishments Include:

  • 2x International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation Champion (Gold)
  • 2x International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation Finalist (Silver)
  • 8x North American Grappling Association Champion (Gold)
  • 5X American Grappling Federation Champion Gi and No-Gi (Gold)

Coach Adrian has coached adults and children over the years helping them to grow on and off the mats through his personal experiences in life and martial arts. Coach Adrian also holds a Black Belt in Kyo Kushin Karate, a Red Belt in Muay Thai and is also a Certified Personal Trainer with 6 years of Group Fitness/Strength and Conditioning experience. He is also a father of 2 girls and loves to work with children as well as teenagers and adults.

Coach Israel is a Graduate of Texas Tech, he received his Bachelors in Kinesiology in May of 2017. Israel is the Program Director and Assistant Instructor for Gracie Barra Carrollton. Coach Israel has been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for 5 years and is currently ranked as a purple belt. Coach Israel is an active competitor and one the most promising up and coming Gracie Barra athletes in Dallas, Texas,

Coach Israel, “Jiu Jitsu for me is a way of life and an escape from the outside world, when I finish training it’s like I hit a reset button and am ready for anything life throws at me.”

David Johnson

David Johnson


Coach David Johnson is a blue belt who started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 2 years ago. He enjoys teaching others and watching others grow in Martial Arts. Coach David is an active competitor and looks to compete more throughout the years.

Tim Thompson

Tim Thompson


Mr. Thompson has been in martial arts since 1975 and has reached high level belt ranking in several martial arts. He has been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since 2009. His passion is creating a “Jitsu for Everyone” atmosphere within his schools and encourages anyone from the age of 3 – 99 years old to come and try it.

He loves spending time with his wife and children – “I’m a Christian first, a father and husband second and a martial artist third…it’s important to have priorities in one’s life, it’s these 3 priorities that have made me the most successful and happy.”

Professor Vinicius Draculino Magalhaes is the head instructor of Gracie Barra Texas and Gracie Barra – BH Schools.

With more then 17 years of teaching experience, he is a primary example of a man who is fully dedicating his life to his children ( Jade and Igor), his wife ( Monica), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Gracie Barra and its members. Professor Draculino‘s personality, enthusiasm, integrity, charisma and leadership make the essence of GB Texas and GBBH and touch all those around him.

A great competition background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Submission Wrestling and MMA qualifies him as one of the best featherweight competitors in BJJ history. He collects many titles such as a 4-time Pan American Champion, 1 time no gi Pan American Chamion- 2008, 2 Time Brazilian National Champion, 2 Time Silver Medalist at the World BJJ Championships, MMA Lightweight Champion and Abu-Dhabi veteran.

Besides these titles as a competitor, Professor Vinicius is considered one of the best instructors in the BJJ world. Among his students, you will find worlds, Pan Ams, national BJJ champions, more than 78 Black Belts, MMA and Grappling champions. Professor Vinicius is also a lawyer in Brazil, graduated in the UFRJ (Federal University of Rio De Janeiro), one of the top three law schools in the country.
